چکیده

Human activities and natural factors determine the hydrogeochemical characteristics of karst groundwaters their use as drinking water. This study assesses 14 water sources in Apuseni Mountains (NW Romania) potential sources. As shown by Durov Piper diagrams, chemical composition waters is typical it dominated HCO3− Ca2+, having a circumneutral to alkaline pH total dissolved solids ranging between 131 1092 mg L−1. The relation major ions revealed that dissolution main process contributing chemistry. Limestone dolostone are Ca Mg sources, while halite Na Cl source. Gibbs diagram confirmed rock dominance groundwater quality index (GWQI) showed excellent quality, except for two displayed medium good status. studied influenced geological characteristics, mainly water–rock interaction and, more limited extent, anthropogenic activities. investigated could be exploited resources area. results present highlight importance context good-quality shortage but also vulnerability this resource influences.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Investigation of the effect of some geomorphologic features of Joghatai mountains on water quality changes in terms of chromite

Water is one of the most vital human needs. Chromium is one of the heavy metals that causes water pollution in different regions. The studied area is Joghatai Mountains and Davarzan, Khoshab, Joghatai, Joveyn and Sabzevar plains of Razavi Khorasan Province. This research has studied, analyzed water pollution with the element of chromium as well as the impact of lithology mountains Joghatai, on ...

From nappe stacking to exhumation: Cretaceous tectonics in the Apuseni Mountains (Romania)

New Ar-Ar muscovite and Rb-Sr biotite age data in combination with structural analyses from the Apuseni Mountains provide new constraints on the timing and kinematics of deformation during the Cretaceous. Time-temperature paths from the structurally highest basement nappe of the Apuseni Mountains in combination with sedimentary data indicate exhumation and a position close to the surface after ...

Hydrogeochemical investigation and water quality assessment in the sarough watershed, Takab mining district

This study investigated the hydrogeochemistry and environmental water quality of rivers in Sarough watershed using the major ion chemistry and explored multivariate statistical methods for identification of processes which release the solutes in natural waters. Totally, 38 samples were collected along the main streams of the watershed. The mean concentrations of major cations (Na, K, Mg, Ca) an...

Water quality risks of 'improved' water sources: evidence from Cambodia.

OBJECTIVES The objective of this study was to investigate the quality of on-plot piped water and rainwater at the point of consumption in an area with rapidly expanding coverage of 'improved' water sources. METHODS Cross-sectional study of 914 peri-urban households in Kandal Province, Cambodia, between July-August 2011. We collected data from all households on water management, drinking water...
